Southern Build, the broadest and most comprehensive building trade show to be held in the South Island to date, will be promoting excellence and innovation in the building sector through its New Products and Services Award.

Any exhibitor can participate, whether they part of the main construction event, Southern Build; the plant, machinery and vehicle exhibition, Contrax; or the ISN Safety Show.
Exhibitor entrants will be voted for by building sector professionals visiting the show. The voting period will run over the full two days of Southern Build, which takes place at the Westpac Arena in Christchurch on August 13 and 14.

Southern Build organiser Hayley Media decided to make the award a visitor-nominated one as those working in the industry are very well placed to judge not only what products and services break new ground in some way, but also those that would be truly useful to them in their working environment.

Vested interest in innovation

Visitors to Southern Build are particularly interested in finding out about the latest developments in the construction sector, including sourcing new products and services. Many say this is the reason they will attend and, so, have a vested interest in seeking out innovation.

Show organiser Rachel Hobbs says the new Products and Services Award makes Southern Build the perfect platform for exhibitors to launch new products, or for visitors to discover them.
“We are already getting lots of interest from exhibitors who want to specifically promote the sustainable features of their new lines, a very hot topic in construction at the moment.”
