The third leg of the CMS road shows were successfully concluded recently, finishing a cycle that encompassed Queenstown, Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch, Blenheim, Nelson, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, and Auckland.

The invitation-only breakfasts were open to architects, designers, builders, territorial authorities and developers in each location.

More than 1400 participants joined Lester Haycock from Construction Marketing Services and Registered Master Builders Federation chief executive Pieter Burghout over a cooked breakfast to hear the latest on Future Proof Building and building practitioner licensing.

The road shows also included a range of future proofed building products that CMS partners could showcase to the breakfast attendees. “The construction sector will face significant changes with the implementation of builder licensing.

We will also have considerable challenges and debate over the forthcoming years over government regulation and its effect on the construction industry,” Mr Burghout says.

“Builders are clearly interested in what is going to affect them and they were also interested to get an update on the Future Proof Building concept — especially given the amount of effort and resources now being put in to reach out to consumers with the FPB brand.”
