Auckland Architecture Week 2007 kicked off in October with one of the highlights of the week, Steven Ehrlich’s lecture.

The Californian architect was sponsored by Stevenson and Golden Bay Cement to attend Architecture Week and present on one of his favourite topics, sustainability and contemporary design.

The event was well attended by more than 400 architects, designers and the general public.

Mr Ehrlich proved that not only is he an excellent architect, but an excellent speaker, and it is hard not to get enthusiastic and share his passion for creating vibrant living areas and community spaces.

His design often features materials such as concrete and masonry due to their flexibility, aesthetic appeal and ability to use thermal mass to create comfortable and energy efficient buildings.

For Stevenson specifier representatives Ann Jones and Bernice Cumming, Mr Ehrlich’s presence was the opportunity of a lifetime to learn, make new contacts, showcase innovation and stay up to the minute with what’s hot in architecture.

Stevenson was extremely proud to host this well-known architect, which set the tone for the rest of the week at the Stevenson stand at Britomart Pavilion.
