“We really appreciate the positive response we’ve had during every stage of opening this Bunnings Warehouse,” Mr Powell says.
“We’re excited to bring the widest range of DIY and garden products to Glenfield, backed up with expert advice.”

The new store will bring comprehensive DIY facilities and services to the area, with free “how-to” DIY workshops held every weekend for experts, novices and even kids, and events such as ladies DIY nights.

The store encompasses an area of around 2.3 hectares, which includes a hardware store of 11,700 square metres and a garden centre.
It also features a covered timber drive-through for trade and DIY customers.

Auckland presence strengthened
Bunnings Warehouse Glenfield is the 21st Warehouse to open in New Zealand, and Bunnings New Zealand general manager Rod Caust says the site reinforces the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Auckland.

“Around 35% of Kiwis live in the Greater Auckland area, so it is naturally a key market for us,” he says.
“This is the sixth Bunnings Warehouse to open in Auckland, and our Takanini and Silverdale stores are both progressing to plan.
“Further to these we are committed to opening another four to six Bunnings Warehouses in Auckland within the next five years.”

Since entering the New Zealand market in 2001 through the acquisition of Benchmark Building Supplies, the company has invested in excess of $500 million in New Zealand.
It employs more than 3000 team members nationwide.
