Accent Tools Ltd has significantly expanded its sales and brand portfolio in New Zealand, with a newly-formed partnership with Apex Tool Group (ATG).

ATG is one of the largest global manufacturers of premium hand and power tools, automotive tools and storage, drill chucks, chain, and electronic soldering products, with revenue in excess of US$1.7 billion.

With facilities and offices across 30 countries, ATG offers an extensive portfolio of leading brands for consumer, professional and industrial use.

The company serves a multitude of global markets, including automotive, aerospace, electronics, energy, hardware, industrial and consumer retail.

Effective from August 1, 2019, Accent Tools Ltd becomes the exclusive agent for all ATG brands in New Zealand, including Crescent, GearWrench, Weller, Lufkin, and Wiss.

These premium brands will now join HiKOKI, Nilfisk and Shinano in the portfolio of professional brands that Accent Tools Ltd markets and represents.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the New Zealand market, Accent Tools is regarded as a leading locally-owned and operated business that prides itself on providing top-class service to its network of dealer partners.

In developing this relationship with ATG, these well established hand tool brands will now be strongly marketed directly in New Zealand — supported by Accent’s comprehensive sales, customer service and distribution resources.

An aggressive plan for growth will be implemented, allowing dealers to expand their range and grow their sales of ATG products.

Accent Tools Ltd managing director Andrew Way says Accent Tools is exceptionally pleased to have been able to establish this new relationship with ATP.

“As a business we represent quality brands, and have a proven track record of marketing and growing those brands in the New Zealand market,” Mr Way says.

“The strong heritage, leading innovation and exceptional quality across the ATG portfolio are attributes that New Zealand tradespeople will gravitate towards as we ramp up the marketing and promotion of key brands such as GearWrench and Crescent.”

ATP national sales manager Martin Davies says Accent Tools is already a highly regarded distributor and representative of high quality brands in HiKOKI, Nilfisk, and Shinano.

“So we see this future alliance with them as a perfect fit in representing our premium hand tool brands” he says.

Existing ATG dealers throughout New Zealand will have the opportunity to seamlessly transition across to Accent’s dealer platform.

To assist with this, current ATG NZ sales manager James McLellan will be joining the Accent Tools team as business manager, hand tools.

Mr Way says James has a wealth of experience in this market, and a passion for delivering value and opportunities for his customers.

“James will be a valuable resource for our dealers in the transition and growth phases of our plan.”
